Upgrading a Cisco 2600 Series Router

I recently installed a new CISCO NM-1E2W 1-ETHERNET 2-WIC NETWORK MODULE in my router. To give me the ability to connect the router to my cable modem via a ethernet cable. The router already had an ethernet port, which connects to the switch. The problem is getting the operating system (Ver. 12) to recongize the new LAN interface. I tried using the "Show interface" command, but I am only able to see the orginal interfaces. Any help would be appreciated.

NM-1E2W is not supported on the 2600.

I find the same information on several other pages, including the 2600/3600/3700 Series Lan Connectivity Modules list,

It appears to get an extra ethernet on the 2600 series that you need NM-1FE-SMF (2691 only) NM-4E NM-1E
