Throughput and CPU of a Cisco 1710 open original image

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know what the CPU speed (and cpu chip) that the Cisco 1710 uses? Also, does anyone know the throughput of this router? I'm trying to figure out what grade of firewall to purchase to replace the 1710. The Cisco 1710 is running at about 93% CPU.

Post the output of

show ip cef

show version

show process cpu

show crypto engine accel

As far as the rated packets per second capability of the 1710 - see

formatting link
it states there that the 1710 can process switch at 1310 pps and fast/cef switch at 7000 pps. These are "never-to-exceed" numbers, i.e. they can be expected to apply only with minimum sized packets and no features turned on.

Then you can compare this with the output you collect per Merv's instructions, to see whether you're getting the kind of performance you should expect.

Cheers,

Aaron
