I'm trying to figure out the best way to monitor the status of individual 3750 chassis' in a multi-chassis stack. I had thought the workgroup.ciscoStackMIB.moduleGrp.moduleTable.moduleEntry.moduleStatus object in the cisco-stack-mib would provide what I want since it is described as "the operational status of the module". While this object may show if there is an abnormal condition on a given chassis in a stack it will NOT do so if the stack dies completely. I tested this by powering off a chassis in a 2x3750 stack and the instance simply went away. It didn't say "alarm" or anything similar, it simply went away.
Any thoughts on monitoring the status of indivudal chassis' w/in a stack would be greatly appreciated.
