what does the string in the subject stand for? I found it out on the description of the models from the 4507R and above.

Redundant Power Supply Capable.
(Which fits in with the 'R' part of the 4507R model number.)
Means you can use the red colored supervisors instead of just the statndard one Means the chasis supports redundant supervisor modules.
