Obtaining device ID and port

I would like to obtain information on devices connecting to my Cisco

2900 series switch. I understand this is done via decoding the CDP protocol. Specifically, I am looking for the device ID and the switch port the device is connecting to. I have volatile (roaming) devices. Can this info be obtained via switch logging or do I need to run polling software on a remote host? Any information is welcomed. Thanks.
