How to disable MSTP (802.1s) on some VLANs?

Hi,

I want to disable MSTP (802.1s) on some VLANs but I don't know how to configure it. I'm using Catalyst switch. Please advice too.

Thanks a lot, Nitass

Hi, I have never done that, but I think it could be done with these step:

1- Assign all the VLANs where you do not want STP to a single unused MST instance. 2- Enter the command: Switch(config)# no spanning-tree mst

I am not sure about this, but I would give it a shot. I would be good to hear a second opinion Let us know about the result. Best regards,

Hi,

Thanks for reply. I just tried but it can?t show as follow;

switch(config)#no spanning-tree mst 15 % Incomplete command.

switch(config)#no spanning-tree mst 15 ? priority Set the bridge priority for the spanning tree root Configure switch as root

switch(config)#

Thanks a lot, Nitass
