Can't read or format ata flash card on 6500

Been trying to sort this one, had a scan of similar threads.

I have a 6509 running hybrid, can't read the flash from the router or switch process dir slot0: or dir disk0: can't format it either

Comes back saying Console> (enable) dir slot0: error = -69 Open device slot0 failed (device not ready)

I've tried the card in a 7204vxr, can read it fine. Tried the card in another Sup2, same result. I can read linear cards no problem.

Looking for tricks to get this going please. Thanks.

It is disk0:, if you have SUP2. And you should have ROMMON 7.1(1) and CatOS

7.5(1). What kind of ata you have? SUP2 supports only 64MB ata. (MEM-C6K-ATA-1-64M(=))

Thanks Make,

It was running 7.6, but turns out to be a duff slot on the sup2 I had. Worked fine on another, and you can work around the requirement of it being 7.5+ by popping the battery, read the ata flash with only 6.4.
