I heard that it is possible to get v.92 modems to work on an AS5200 if someone upgrades the IOS, despite it not being supported. Is anyone familier with this?
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
The different AS modems:
AS5200 - Microcom AS5300 - MICA AS5400 - Nextport
The AS5200 doesn't go beyond 12.1 code.
You may wish to investigate Cisco's Updating AS5200 Modem Firmware:

Generally, no. The AS5200 Microcom modems stop at V.90.
At some point in the AS5300 and AS5400, modem firmware was bundled with the IOS. That was never the case with the AS5200.
If you happen to have an AS5200 retrofitted with MICA modems, there is V.92 code for them. But most AS5200s in the field have the Microcom modems.
I assume you want V.92 for the Quick Connect feature?
