Re-CCNA required to take a CCNP test if CCNA is already expired?

Hello, I took CCNA and 3 CCNP exams a few years ago... now they're all expired.

In order to get a CCNP, I need to get my last CCNP exam. Do I need to get CCNA recertification to be eligible to take the CCNP exams or ca I just go ahead and take my CCNP exam?

I'll appreciate your comments if you know the answer.

Thanks....

you're going to have to start from scratch.

Thank you very much for the reply.

By "need to start from the scratch", I believe you mean I need to get the CCNA & my last CCNP. I hope you do not mean I need to take CCNA & all CCNP exams again to become a CCNP.

if you're past 3 years on all of it, you'll need to do all of it over again.

it goes by the date of the last test you wrote, so for example if you wrote your last ccnp exam in may of '04, then you'd be past 3 years and would have to start all over. if you wrote it in aug '04, you'd still be a valid ccna, and would only need to write your last ccnp exam to certify.

other option depending on how well you know your junk, is just do the ccie written.
