When I ping though my home router LAB of 5 Cisco 3200/2503 switch 2511 routers I get intermittent high ping times like 118ms, 647ms and other high numbers every 50 - 100 pings. Is this normal ?? What can I do to fix this error??

check cables sometimes cables when they are loose gets this results check full-duplex config set to auto

Need more info.

What size pings?

What clock rate on the interface?

What is the CPU utilization?

Jonathan

Well, I had a cust the other day complaining that it took 500ms for a

1500-byte ping on a 56k frame-relay circuit.

It turned out he had no idea about the types of delay.

Jonathan

i just ment that he got this delay while he is trying some pings with routers and switch at the same place for LAB purposes only that whats i mean there is no need to check tht far but ofcourse u r totaly right
