Ping Time=657ms

When I ping though my home router LAB of 5 Cisco 3200/2503 switch 2511 routers I get intermittent high ping times like 118ms, 647ms and other high numbers every 50 - 100 pings. Is this normal ?? What can I do to fix this error??

Need more info.

What size pings?

What clock rate on the interface?

What is the CPU utilization?

Well, I had a cust the other day complaining that it took 500ms for a

1500-byte ping on a 56k frame-relay circuit.

It turned out he had no idea about the types of delay.
