I have been trying to connect my two Win XP to play stronghold crusader. I am using a SMC 2804wbrp-g router. I am not able to see the other computer. Do I need to have a static IP adress and use port fowarding or have I just connected badly?

How are your two computers connected, with a cable or wireless? Have you checked/compared their respective IP addresses? The first 3 octets will probably be the same, and the last octet will NOT be the same. Check the Netmask, making sure the two computers use the same one, most likely 255.255.255.0. Check XP's firewall settings. Open a Command Prompt window on each computer and try to ping the other computer. Those are just a few things you can try. Good luck.
