I have the European version (rev. B1) of this router. Generally it works fine but suffers from the occasional lock-up. I've never updated firmware. It came with firmware 1.03.
I want to install the latest firmware. I've found that there are different versions of firmware depending on whether you have the US or European model. I've found and dowloaded firmware 1.05 from the Norwegian (where I live) d-link support site. This firmware is from mid-2004. I've installed this but now the router says it has firmware
1.04 installed. How come?I've been looking at various other European d-link support sites. On the German site there's an even newer version, 1.05.06 from late 2005. This is for the rev B1 model that I have.
I find it strange that this can be found only on the German site. Can I safely install this on my router?
