Troublshooting NT5B05 wiring

Hey Folks:

Advance Note: I am an old time Avaya pro, but new to (old) Meridian's.

Customer has a 3X8 system Station in question lost its connection to the system.

problem 1: one station was wired (arguh!) to two different cat 5 cables, one pair to or/wh (to pair 1/2 on rj45 jack) and a DIFFERENT cable to bl/wh to the correct rj45 voice pair (bl/wh)...

OK. So I re-punched down to one cable using bl/wh, and toned back to the

66 block

so my first problem is:

The 66 block (2X2) is a mess. The left side goes directly into the Meridian the right side appears to be the station wires.

I know (from about 4 hrs research today) --boy do I wish that was PAID research!)

that: on the Meridian NT5B05 (KSU) Amphenol 3X8 KSU Connector Pair Color Port Telephone/Connection

1 Wh/Bl 101 21/221/2221 2 Wh/Or 102 22/222/2222 3 Wh/Gn 103 23/223/2223 4 Wh/Br 104 24/224/2224 5 Wh/Sl 105 25/225/2225 6 Rd/Bl 106 26/226/2226 7 Rd/Or 107 27/227/2227 8 Rd/Gn 108 28/228/2228

So I would say I need to pull out the bl/wh from the station (#5) (or X25) and REWIRE directly into the left side on the white/slate for port 105.

SO... that's my sanity check.

BUT here's my (next) question. Should the system need any more programming? and what kind?

Its not a DID system, so all lines should ring on all incoming calls (2 lines).

as I said before Arguh....

thanks again,

Mark
