How to Open Port (Total Newbie Question)

Hello,

Our office has a 1600-series Cisco router that appears to be blocking certain traffic from us to the outside world. We've discovered this by trying to set up VPN's.

I can telnet into the router and get to the enable prompt (router_name#). From here I have no clue what to do. Here is what I would like to accomplish:

  1. set PPTP traffic for pass-through
  2. open port 5156
  3. easily close PPTP pass-through and port 5156 if problems are detected

Can someone please tell me what to enter to configure our router to perform these tasks? I've been searching to Cisco website and various user forums but at this point it's totally a foreign language to me.

Thank you for any help you might be able to give.

Sincerely,

Mark B.

Post the output of "sh conf" Sounds like there may be an ACL issue.
