What firmware are you running on the 5861?

And seems to want to run BOOTP to get an IP rather than DHCP. The 5861 doesn't like the BOOTP that XP talks. If a firmware update isn't available, try disabling the BOOTP request in XP.

What software version are you running on the box? I have one here with no problems. I can send you newer code if you need it.

You are running code that is about 5 years old. You really should update it. You can email me at snipped-for-privacy@hotmail.com and I can post the code to my ftp server.

you could go out to Efficient's website, but your code is so old you need the ASIC file as well as the kernel.

The latest version is 5.3.170

The problem is that five years ago the application layer gateway functionality was nill and there were almost no features other than routing.
