Anyone know where to buy (in the UK) replacement antenna for a PCI Wireless card. It is the stubby type and has SMA connector and swivel fitting.

It's a reverse SMA connector. Ebay shows over 200 assorted vendors or
2.4GHz omni antennas. Search for "2.4Ghz omni". The stock antenna that comes with most PCI cards has problems.- It's fairly low gain (+2dBi optimisticly).
- It's hidden behind a big wall of sheet metal (the computah).
- It's mixed in with a bunch of cables that will affect the pattern.
- It's in a terrible location and needs to up higher.
- It really should be a directional antenna, not an omnidirectional.
All these point to a replacement antenna that's at the end of a piece of coaxial cable instead of the stock piece of junk. I'm not sure which one to recomend. For example, Dlink has a bunch of external antennas at:
