Wireless Notebook Adapter in a Router?

Hi,

I'm looking for an alternative to keeping my DSL at my home. I was looking at the various cellular companies and the services they provide. Most of them have notebook adapters so that you can access the internet... I was wonder if there is anything that exists for the following: using the internet services of a cellular company via their notebook adapter but have it plugged into a wireless router so that multiple computers (whether wired or wireless) can feed off of the router. Am I way off on this thought?

Be warned that use of EV-DO data service as a non-mobile DSL replacement may be against the terms of service of a given carrier (e.g., Verizon).
