wireless access point

Hi,

I have a wireless router (connected to the internet) and within range of it are several machines without wireless capability but which are connected to an ethernet LAN

could I use a wireless access point to connect the LAN to the existing wireless network (i.e. the access point would act as an infrastructure-mode "client") and allow all my non-wireless machines to access the internet?

Many APs (not routers) can be set to client mode. I've had good luck with the Linksys WAP54G.
