password for router?

Hi all,

I have bought a Linksys WRT54G and set it up fine and the network is accessible. However, for the life of me I can't see where to make the wireless password protected. There is no option in the router settings to make the network 'security enabled'.

How do I do this as I don't fancy leaving my broadband open for the world to use!

What hardware version? There are 8 different models of WRT54G. Look on the serial number tag.

Wireless -> Wireless Security -> Enable Something like this:

Note that I'm guessing on the hardware version because you didn't supply one.

Ummmm... Select "WPA personal" and fill in the blanks.

However, before you do anything, I suggest you verify that you have the latest firmware version installed. You'll need the hardware version number. Then download the corresponding firmware from the Linksys web pile.
