Linksys doesn't provide security for WinME. What do I need to keep others out. Nice and simple please.

What do you mean Linksys doesn't?
If you have a Linksys NAT router, you have some protection against attacks from the internet, but not others on your WLAN/LAN.
You might want to check with your ISP. Many of them offer full Anti-virus and firewall suite downloads for your PC.
I have a WUSB54G adapter and a 16FT USB wire to a home computer. No router. When I push the "SECURE EASY SETUP" button a pop-up comes up saying "NO support for Win98 or WinME.
Check the user guide that came with your adapter. The device does have
