I'm a Slackware noobie trying to understand Linux. I've used Windows for a loooong time, but really want to learn Linux. I have an old laptop with Slack 10.0 installed and I want to try wardriving. It looks like a lot of fun. But I don't know what to do with .pl files. I assume they are Perl files, but how do I make them work? Been through "Running Linux" many times, but I just don't understand what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

If you wan to run the a perl script, 'perl scriptname.pl' should do it. I don't know about wepcrack, but most open-source stuff comes with a readme to explain how to install it- have a look for that first.
Take a look at kismet and airsnort too.
