Can't connect to Google on laptop

Aug 14, 2007 0 Replies

Two computers - both XP both getting on line wireless - one desktop and one laptop.

The desktop doesn't have a problem.

The laptop can't connect to google or a home page. I reformatted the laptop and reloaded XP Pro (did the slow reformat). Same problem still exists. It's a Toshiba Satellite and a Netgear RangeMax NEXTY Wireless-N Router connected to Comcast cable modem (Motorola - New).

The strange thing is that the laptop will not connect to google or a home web page. The only strange thing I notice is that in Control Panel, Network Connections, is that there is a Internet Gateway showing. I didn't install that.

When I disabled the Internet Gateway connection, the wireless wouldn't work.

I brought the laptop home to work on my network (PPPoE DSL) with Netgear RangeMax router. It works on my network. (Even when I disable the Internet Gateway connection).

Any ideas???
