access point and wireless router question

Jul 28, 2005 1 Replies

Hi,

I am attempting to set up wireless in a house. Because of the size I need two wireless devices. I have one wireless router and an access point. I connect the two through powerline (electricity). I set up the access point as AP with different SSID and Channel than the router. I can connect to it wirelessly and the pc is attributed an IP address from the Router. The problem is I cannot access the Router ip address and hence cannot connect to the internet. The IP settings have the correct subnet mask and correct gateway settings (of the router).

What could be causing this? I can see the access point from a pc connected to the router but not vice-versa.

Thanks for any pointers.

It would help if you actually posted all the IP configuration.

David.
