Need help setting up SPA-2002

I have been having problems trying to setup a VOIP system under thefollowing conditions:1. My ISP is Southbell, I am suscribed to their DSL which uses PPPoE2, I am using a Westell C90 modem configured in the "briged Internet" mode.3. My Router is Linksys WRT54GS4. My ATA is a brand new SPA-2002For three days now I have been working with my VOIP provider technicianstrying to get the system to work. They have supplied all the informationthat is normally required to connect to their server but they have finallyadmitted that they are not familiar with the SPA-2002, Up to date, we havebeen unable to register the ATA with their server. The end result is I havereached a dead end.Here's what Sipura has to say (quote):"...The adapter does not have a pppoe option for connection, therefore theadapter does not connect to the internet. You can use the router to ensurethat the adapter connects to the internet. But you need to open the portsmentioned in my previous e-mail. Use this for reference: ""If you have a firewall, make sure you are not blocking the UDP PORT5060,5061 and port for UDP packets in the range of 16384-16482.You will also need to disable "SPI" if there is such function in yourfirewall. Depending on the SIP server that you are going to register to, Ifit supports NAT, then you can use "Outbound Proxy" configuration of the SPAto connect to it. Otherwise, SPA also supports STUN protocol. (see "SIP" tabconfig from web GUI) Please note that STUN will not work if you have asymmetric NAT. If you enable the debug through syslog, and set "STUN test"to yes, SPA will print information about whether or not you have a symmetricNAT."Being an absulute novice in this field, it is hard for me to implementSipura's recommendation specially since (to me) they are kind of vague anddo not refer specifically to the Router that I'm using.Is there someone that can give me some advise and/or guidance on thismatter considering the setup that I have? I would most certainly appreciateit....

I must agree with you about PPPoe. I think our conclusion is that the equipment in question is inadequate.

And now we've come full circle. His ISP requires PPPoE and his ATA does not support that, so he needs the router between them.

Which equipment might that be??? The Bellsouth equipment that employs PPPoE or the Sipura ATA that does not support it???
