POTS line signal to PC MIC-in jack circuit?

What's the decent, cheap, way to get both talk and listen sides of a phone call on a POTS line into the MIC-in on a PC in a non-intrusive way?

For extra credit, the ability to detect ring and Off-hook from software (somebidy elses's problem) running on the PC would be nice.

Software code to listen to the DTMF tones and spit out the digits dialed would be great.

Ideas ?

How about the USB port?

. The two port unit retails for just under $250 and the 4-port just under $300. You supply the computer and they record it in their format, but you can convert it to an MP3 file for e-mailing. Outbound calls capture the digits dialed, inbound calls the CID if you have it.
