headset with comdial phones

Hello I need a little help. My system KSU: Comdial g1632 Phones:

8024s-pt

The phones have headset ports on them. I connected a headset to the port on one of the stations. I need to know how to activate this port to use the headset. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
