I bought a modem with caller-id capability(Apache V92-EA SoftK56 Data Fax) and i subscribed in the local telephone company caller-id service and used the hyperterminal to test the modem(Windows XP) however it did not work. I was told that some modems may be caller-id capable but may not work in some countries .I live in Lebanon(Bell202,SSK modulation) ,can you specify a modem able to recognize caller-id in Lebanon ?

You May need to turn on the CID recognition with an AT... command. RTFM.
I have tried at+vcid=1 in the hyperterminal after connecting to the appropriate Com of the modem and it gives me OK ,however when a make a call no caller ID is shown.
Caller ID is not automatic, your phone supplier has to, well, supply it.
