CenturyLink customers in parts of northern Albemarle County were without phone and Internet services Tuesday morning after a contractor cut a fiber optic line.
Company spokeswoman Simone Alley said the incident occurred at about
10 a.m. near the Charlottesville (Virginia) Albemarle Airport.

When I noticed this topic on Google, the first, second, and third sites (all different companies) I tried to access all returned "404" errors: the original story about the failure had been removed.
(Yes, I know Google caches things, but that's not the point.)
