CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) - Service has been restored to thousands of Verizon and CenturyLink customers have been without land line phone and internet service for about 24 hours. Albemarle Fire and Rescue did not say how, but a fiber line was severed late Tuesday morning immediately cutting those services from both providers. CenturyLink expected repair and restoration to take 24 hours, and sure enough it was restored shortly after 11am.
