That's the point, iDen doesn't provide an upgrade path to spiffy

I'd say it's highly likely they'd move to the PCS 1900 band since Nextel already has problems of interference with public safety broadcasting in several areas in the 800 Mhz band. Nextel is already in the process of transferring out of the 800 Mhz band. See:
