I have an Altronix relay module model RBST, which the instructions rate at 6, 12, or 24VDC input, 25ma, and give the contact rating as
2AMP, DPDT, 120VAC
In general wrt relays, does that mean that each pair of contacts is
2amps, or that the total is 2amps?
I see on the relay that is the heart of the module, 1A24VDC 0.5A120VAC and it is a double pole relay. It's a HASCO 9224. Doesn't Hasco know best?
Does the 0.5A refer to the total of the two poles, or is the total
1.0A?
And regardless of the answer to the first 2 questions, the specs seem overblown. Is not the rating of the 2-pole relay, according to HASCO, at most 1 amp at 120vac? So why does it say 2AMP in the specs on the instruction sheet, and on the paper label stuck to the outside of the box**?
If it's wrong, is it just a fluke mistake, or do some companies tend to overrate their devices?

**The box was printed with 3 check boxes for different models, but this is a fourth model that isn't one of the three, so there is a paper label says RBST, but that label also gives 3 more lines of specs.
