Just another fire marshal implimenting more rules so that it appears that h= e actually knows something about fire alarm systems and that he has somethi= ng to do that looks like work.=20

It doesn't make any difference how much it cost the consumer or the install= ing companys. If it saves the life of OOOOOONNNNNNNNNE person than it doesn= 't make any difference WHAT it cost. ( just so long as it looks like the AH= J actually knows something about fire alarms and can pass the blame on to s= omeone else when they screw up)

How come AHJ's don't have to take the NICET tests or have to have technical= knowledge about fire alarms? Anyone ever meet an AHJ that actually had an= y technical know how to be able to determine if a system was correctly wire= d and connected properly? Any one ever hear of an AHJ who was prosecuted fo= r failing to find a flaw in an alarm installation?

Me ether.

I know of couple ahj know what there doing they where former electrical inspectors and yes city of new york prosecuted some officials few years back but its rare when it happens
