Anyone having problems with???

Anyone having sensitivity problems with the DS938Z Ceiling Mount PIR made by Bosch????

Mounted at 15ft, room Temp around (at 5ft) 85 degrees...........

I think most PIRs, will begin to get pretty sluggish the closer you get to body temperature. Dual tech units are less likely to be affected by heat, since the PIR's in those units are usually not set for pulse count and set at higher sensitivity.

They're not sluggish, they're completely blind... You can walk around the room and never set one off!!! This NEVER used to be a problem with this model detector...

Do they have changeable lens/mirrors depending on the mounting height.? Are these installed at a higher mounting height than those you have installed in the past?

The correct mirrors are being used... Nope, there are older ones installed at the same height (at other accounts) without any problems...

Hmmm ..... you might try a seeing eye dog immune detector. :-)

These are the new models, built to comply with the new SIA IR-01 false alarm reduction standard. :-) As you can see, the goal is zero false alarms.

On the bright side, this same unit can also be used as a vehicle detector.
