Clear TN info from a i2004

Aug 25, 2005 2 Replies

Hello;

We've been provided with an i2004 that was previously in another location. They are using another superloop (60) to carry their set programming for IP sets. How do I clear the existing TN in order to put in a correct TN? The listed procedure only works if the set registers and has a valid TN. Otherwise you get the Unequipped screen, with only a reset key.

You need to reset the phone. When the Nortel logo comes up - immediately run your finger along all 4 buttons directly below the screen. This will put you into setup mode. You can then change the settings for the phone - DHCP, ip address, port numbers, etc.

When the phone connects to the system and displays the TN and Node numbers - immediately press the backspace or delete key on the phone and you can then enter a new TN and Node.

Hope this helps!

Thanks.  I've already set the IP, port numbers, etc. to match our system.  The problem I'm having is that the screen showing node and TN never appears if the phone already has a TN configured that is not valid for the switch that it's currently on.

The TN that's currently programmed into the phone: 60-4 The TN I'd like to program into the phone: 61-6

Rather than seeing the TN and node screen, I get a screen showing: "Invalid TN 60-4 Reason: Unequipped".  This screen only has a reset key that reboots the phone.

To see this, simply out the TN that an i2004 is on, and reboot the phone. I'd have to find the original system this phone was on, hook the phone up there, and reprogram the TN there to use the standard procedure.

Thanks, though.

Jeff
