Can I split Composite cable with a RCA y-cable

Question

I am trying to feed to monitors with one HD TV sigmal and was wonderingif it will work by using a RCA y cable, any answers or suggestions willbe greatly appreciated.Thanks, John

Hi,RCA cable can't carry HD signal.

Often wondered if there is a problem with this myself. But wether itsrecommended or not, I've been doing that the last 2-3 yrs. My currentsetup has a D-VHS vcr recieving output from my cable box via firewire,I then run the component out from the VCR to my CRT monitor, pluggedinto the monitor I have 3 of those rca type y splitter plugs, to thisI bring in the signal from the VCR, the other side runs to myprojector. The monitor is a Samsung CRT, The projector is a Sharp now,I had a Sanyo in line before. Haven't seen any problems & have beendoing this for a few years now. Definatly avoids a lot of plugging &unplugging & costly switch boxes.
