OK, I've looked through the deja (nee google) groups as far back as
1998 searching for the best way to do the following:
I have a 2 level ranch. I want speakers around the house and I want mics around the house. I want to be able to tell a system to turn on/off lights as well as play music.
I have some x10 stuff, but otherwise I'm a blank slate. I'd like to be able to do this relatively cheaply (I know, I know).
I've seen mentions of desktop mics, fm transmitters, and clock radios as speaker. Not a bad idea. However, does someone have a site or old usenet message with any step by steps?
