Outside telephone jack?

Question

I'd like to put a waterproof telephone jack on the backside of my house to use on my deck. Searching on google didn't turn up anything. Ideally it would also allow for a network jack, but I expecting that would be asking too much.

STFW "outdoor telephone jack"Several choices appear.One like this: number of others would work too.  Get one that supports using keystonewallplates and you can put whatever jack type you'd like in it.  I'm surethere are even jacks like this that'd support both an RJ11 (for phone) and a2nd RJ45 (for network).  Or even one that uses a single electrical outletstyle faceplate and use than on an outdoor box that's got two doors on it.

I was using "outside telephone jack", which wasn't working well.

I was hoping for something I could recess into the wall. But now that I am using outdoor instead of outside I'm finding them.

Arlington makes a recessed outdoor "in-use" enclosure in several models including retrofit versions. You won't find them at Home Depot but any electrical supply house can order them for you. Cost is about $12. See:  enclosure will accept "Decora" plates which means that you can use a decora keystone plate with up to 6 phone/network/audio/video inserts. Even when cords are plugged in, the door on the box stays closed and flush to the wall and remains rain tight. When not in use, I'd put a foam insert inside to keep bugs out and/or plug "dummy" plugs into the jacks.  See:  D

But they are vertical. Being a brick wall only horizontal makes sense.
