ZoneAlarm is blocking router

Mar 29, 2006 2 Replies

Hi

I'm using the latest version of ZA (6.1.744.001).

Once in a while it pops up a Protected message saying that it has blocked access from the IP address of my router to my PC.

Looking at the firewall logs info it says "Packet sent from xxx (router ip) to xxx (pc ip) ICMP Echo Request was blocked.

Is it safe to add the IP of my router to the Trusted Zone?

Thanks

Ian

The device IP of the router is not attacking the machine. The router is doing discovery of machines on its *own* network of machines behind it.

You should set the personal FW to allow the traffic of the router's device IP the same IP you are using to access the router's Admin screens with the browser.

Duane :)

Sincere concolences.

Great. And very useless.

OMN!

It's safe to remove Zone Alarm and activate the Windows-Firewall.
