Sonicwall Pro 2040 and LinkSys BEFVP41

Nov 08, 2004 4 Replies

I'm trying to setup a site to site VPN between a Sonicwall Pro 2040 Enhanced OS firmware version 2.5.0.1 and a LinkSys BEF-VP41 firmware version 1.41.1 . Both sites are on T1 lines with static IP's. Would appreciate any help.

tnx

That used to work with the older versions of the Sonicwall boxes. I have successfully set up a site to site between a LinkSys BEFVP41 (1.41.1) and a Sonicwall Pro230 (6.5.0.4) with the below instructions but I can not do the same with the Sonicwall Pro 2040 with SonicOS Enhanced v. 2.5.0.1. Something must have changed in the VPN code on the Sonicwall.

Make sure that you use HD group 2, aggressive mode, and that both internal networks are in different SUBNETS.

Crap, sorry, that should have been D-H group 2, aggressive mode....

Yes they updated the VPN code to support the RFC standard for NAT-T. Are you using NAT-T?
