Problems with Norton Internet Security

Nov 08, 2005 6 Replies

I am unable to run the newest versions of Firefox or Netscape with Norton IS. When I start the browser it gets "stuck" trying to load the home page. Same thing if I try another URL. If I disable Norton then it works.

Help!!

Disabling my security software is not a very good solution, wouldn't you say?

You found the solution yourself, a better one is even to uninstall the crap.

Norton like all similar products is no security software but simply unneccessary crap.

Security can never be bought in yellow (or blue or red or ...) boxes.

Thanks. I was able to take care of this by uninstalling and reinstalling Norton IS.

Norton IS includes several modules, each having a diffreent function. Identify the one that causes the problem by turning each off separately. Then it may be possible to correct the problem by setting parameters in the module.

Then you have the solution already.
