You are subject to the law, as soon as you start dealing with

Not accoring to atdhe.net, who links to various sporting events and other online TV shows around the world. One part of their Terms Of Services, says

"1.3 The material on the Website is designed to comply with Dutch law and we cannot be held responsible for any non-compliance with applicable local laws in any other jurisdiction."

This means that atdhe.net, in Holland, is NOT SUBJECT to the laws of ANY OTHER COUNTRY for material they they either host, or link to. In other word, it IS where the SERVER is located, and NOT where the USER is.

There are countries in Europe, not sure about Holland, where it is perfectly legal to link to pirated software and movies on your site as long as you do not host it.
