Aynody having any idea of some good training about firewalls (any theory behind the technology), in Chicagoland area? I am not interested in vendor specific, as much as fundamentals building "behind" technology, then some possible vendor implementation ...

I have never seen any kind of generic firewall class. It has always been a vendors class (spell, expensive!).

Someone else was suggesting the SANS mentor-led class, offered once in a while in this area. Are those any good?!?
