External DHCP server and Linksys wireless routers

Dec 17, 2005 2 Replies

I have a Windows AD domain at home and run a DHPC server. I have a Linksys router and a Linksys wireless router. I cannot seem to get the wireless router to forward DCHP requests to the wireless clients. I had this working before with a Dlink wireless router, I switched to the linksys and now my laptops will not pull a IP address from the Server. I am not running DHCP on the router, its on a active directory server.

Does any one have any suggestions??

Thanks

Are UDP ports 67/69 open/forwarded or whatever?

Just going by the "services" file in \\windows\\system32\\drivers\\etc\\services" that lists dhcps and dhcpc as requiring those ports.

sorry, by why bother? the subnet will be consistent and only the specific IP->hostname might change. you can always use static addresses on your lan, so let the domain server do its major job and let the router do the DHCP mgmt.
