blocking port 6346

Use a firewall. Another method that works very well is to remove the user who is running Gnutella from your network. If possible, putting their severed head on a pike by the entrance to your facility as a warning to others works even better, as long as you add a sign telling of their crime.

You _have_ a firewall, and would like instructions of what command to use to block this port? My crystal ball is in for repair, so I can't see WHAT KIND of firewall you have. Perhaps if you provided _that_ information, you could receive additional help.

i've SmartAX MT882 ADSL Router from HUAWEI, also using zone alarm pro on my win 98 machine....

i've tried to block port6346 but still bearshare works...

Some of the p2p programs will work even when you block inbound. I know that Shareaza will, and probably others as well. So it might not make any difference. Only way to stop it is to not run it to begin with.
