PoE powered device connected to the not PoE switch

James, I think you did not understood my question or I did not asked correctly. the more qorrect question may be so: my device is POE powered. I will connect it to not-POE switch and provide power from external PCU, and I choose my device to be powered from this PSU (disconnect POE module output from the circuit). At this time POE module remaine to be connected to Ethernet lines and to switch that does not work with POE. Does it work or produces a conflict between switch and my device on ethrenet lines?

It strikes me odd, that you're able to design such a device and don't know about hooking up power supplies. This would be a trivial matter for anyone with experience designing electronic equipment. Yes, it is possible to do that and in fact there are a couple of method that could be use.

Why wouldn't it work? I'd just use the third pin (switch) of the power connector to disconnect the output of the PoE supply and splice in the external PSU.

It might be useful to disable the PoE supply entirely when using an external PSU (to allow managed load-sensitive PoE sources to reduce their total load), but you could probably do that with a switch if you cared.

The power supply will be a bit more complicated than otherwise, but that's a detail...

Again, if you're the designer, it should be a trivial problem. The two methods are:

Use a tap, designed for injecting PoE power onto the line. This can be done at either end.

Or, use a separate supply to the device and not use PoE. It's a very simple problem. If you use a "wall wart" type power supply, the connector on your device can disconnect the PoE power.

Ah, I see your question now. If your PoE is 802.3af, then it will not effect the non-PoE switch in any way.
