Monitoring question!

Jul 30, 2004 3 Replies

Hi,

We plan to upgrade our backbone from 100MB to 1GB, also plan to do some changes like creating VLANs.

I am looking for a tool (or network analyzer) to have a performance and efficiency comparison before and after upgrade. Does anyone has any suggestion or know any tool to do that.

Thanks a lot for any help-Rob

Have a look at SmokePing

SmokePing "measure latency, latency distribution and packet loss in your network".

IMHO very useful, not only during transitions,

Thanks Arnold. Can I install SmokePing on a windows machine? Where can i download IMHO? Rob

SmokePing runs on anything which runs Perl. And afaik Windows also runs Perl.

Did you already have a look at the URL I provided last time? No ... Ok, download latest SmokePing at
