VPN connection from Cisco 861 to 1721

Hello,

I have a problem with a certain office that is VPNing into our main connection. Our main router is a cisco 1721 and the router that is VPNing into it is the cisco 861. The problem is that it the 861 router is constantly dropping out (340 times in about 20 days). We have checked with our ISP and they have said there are no problems on their end, and that we shoudl change router settings. We have changed our settings according to what they sent but we are still having the same problem. Has anyone else had this kind of problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

we ran into some serious bugs with our 836 routers with late 12.3T releases (past 12.3(7)T); one of them was a memory leak through Accesslist logging. This causes the router to reload often when a specific amount of ACL denys was logged. Try to look what "sh ver" says in the "System restarted" line and if you have any crashdumps on your flash. The crashdump then can be sent to CCO output interpreter tool or appended to your TAC service request ;-)

The bug I refer to is CSCsa79340.
