Telnet into a udp port

Hi, is this possible? have a problem with a user connecting tcp over a network to a NATted IP address.. but saying his udp packets are being dropped.. problem is i can't see any UDP packets.. only TCP.

Is it possible to test a udp port connection from the CLI say in unix/dos? ie. telnet 111.111.111.111 25 ?

thanks in advance.

You might be able to figure something out with unix traceroute which uses udp by default.

pathping may also be able to use UDP. Can definately use TCP. Not cli but Windows GUI.
