T1 Adtran Question

My company is installing a new T1 line and it is terminating in an Adtran 600 bridge. I am told that I need to have a router with an Ethernet WIC, not a CSU. I am not sure what an Ethernet WIC is. How is it different then the 10/100 ethernet port on a router such as a Cisco 1841 router (which is what i am currently looking at purchasing).

The output of the bridge will be ethernet, so if you want to have some sort of router functions (ie. NAT/ DHCP/ etc) you'd need a router with two ethernet interfaces. Some of the 17xx's routers came with one ethernet and could support an ethernet WIC to go in its expansion slot.

Otherwise, one with two ethernets already will work just fine.
