Hello all,
Beyond defining a VLAN 1 management IP address, what is the purpose of assigning Layer 3 addresses to individual switchports on a Layer 2 switch?
The switch is a Catalyst 2950 running 12.1 without the enhanced image.

Layer 3 IP addressing will allow the communications between differnt devices for each port.
